Peter Killen

Peter Killen is a Partner in our Criminal Department specialising in the preparation of serious and complex general criminal cases in the Crown Court and fraud. Peter graduated in 1996 with a First Class Honours Degree in Law from the University of Northumbria. Peter qualified as a Solicitor in September 1998 and joined Cobleys in February 1999. Peter became a partner with the firm in May 2001.

Peter, who is a Higher Courts Advocate, is noted for his forensic skills and painstaking attention to detail when preparing cases. It is an approach which has not only proved successful, but which is much appreciated by his clients.

Zoe Gascoyne

Zoe Gascoyne is a partner at Cobleys and is qualified as a Solicitor Advocate. She is recognised as one of the best female Criminal Solicitors in Liverpool. Zoe deals with the whole spectrum of criminal cases and will represent clients at the police station right through to conclusion at the Crown Court.

Zoe regularly appears at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court where she is regarded as one of the leading advocates. When describing Zoe recently it was said that “when Miss Gascoyne walks in to Court the Magistrates and Judges know she means business”. Zoe adopts a no nonsense approach and her clients always feel confident when she represents them.

Edward Jones

Edward Jones is the Manager of the Crown Court Department at Cobleys and a fully Accredited Police Station Representative.

Edward has worked for the practice since it was founded in 1983. Prior to this he worked for another local firm for four years.

Edward has vast experience in Criminal Law and specialises in dealing with serious crime both in the police station and at the Crown Court.

Edward has represented many clients charged with offences of Murder, Conspiracy to Supply Class A drugs, serious Sexual Offences and Fraud together with other offences of violence and dishonesty. He also has experience in dealing with Proceeds of Crime Act matters and appeals against both conviction and sentence at the Court of Appeal. In the past Edward has also represented clients who have been referred to by the Criminal Cases Review Comission before the Court of Appeal.

Leanne Kennedy

Leanne recently joined Cobleys as a solicitor specialising in criminal law. Leanne was previously employed at a specialist criminal law practice in nearby Chester.

Leanne has had significant responsibility and input in preparing high profile cases including , for example, rape, manslaughter, conspiracy to supply drugs and benefit fraud cases.

Leanne represents clients on a daily basis in both the Magistrates and Youth courts. Leanne conducts all aspects of advocacy including trials, bail applications, plea before venue and sentencing hearings.

Leanne is a member of the Junior Lawyers Division with Liverpool Law Society.

Kelly Ward

Kelly is one of Liverpool’s finest female Criminal Solicitors. She qualified as a solicitor in 2001 and joined Cobleys in 2008. She is currently a member of the Crown Court team. Neil Colville

Neil is an experienced Criminal Lawyer.  He has extensive experience in police stations, Magistrates Court and Prison law work. 
Over the years he has dealt with several high profile cases most notably representing a famous footballer at the police station for death by dangerous driving.

Neil has built up an extensive knowledge of road traffic law and enjoys the challenges involved in this area.  No case is too small and you can be assured no stone will be left un- turned when assessing whether the prosecution can prove their  case if he is representing you.
Neil has further helped many defendants’ successfully prove their innocence at the Magistrates court conducting trials and vigorously cross examining prosecution witnesses including police officers.  He regularly makes bail applications and mitigates on his clients behalf.
 
Neil attends prison on a regular basis and now specialises in parole hearings.  He has many clients nationally who are currently benefiting from his representation.  These involve IPP prisoner and lifers, some of which have been high profile cases making the national news.

Michael McKeown

Michael joined Cobleys in 2008 and is a fully qualified police station accredited representative. He has over 9 years experience in criminal law and represents clients facing a whole range of offences. Michael is an expert in his field and regularly deals with the more complex cases such as those involving conspiracy to supply firearms and conspiracy to murder.

During his time in Cobleys Michael has established a substantial client base.

Tanya Windsor

She attends at Liverpool Crown Court on a daily basis providing support and assistance to Counsel and clients.

Tanya has her own case load and specialises in Early Guilty Plea cases.
